Afghanistan Quote of the Day: 13 February 2014

“We were walking back down the track pushing the fat behinds of the fat-tailed flock before us with much hooting and hollering. I joined in and made my own racket until hoarse from the exertion. I was a fairly pathetic shepherd, it has to be said. Given charge of bringing into line one particularly obstinate beast who had wandered off, I summoned every fearsome bone in my body to frighten the animal back to the flock, but it merely looked at me and continued chewing. I grabbed it by its woolly back and attempted to propel it in the desired direction, but a fat-tailed sheep is no lightweight.”
